Because every 11 year-old should have a skull-with-marijuana leaf sweater.
Even though the model looks eerily like the bad religious dude from Contact, these shirts from Helmet of the Will are fucking sweet. Picked one up at the mecca of cool shit, Steven Alan in Tribeca.
Freemans Sporting Club = maybe the coolest barber shop I’ve ever seen. Where is this on the West Coast?
Saw the Fleet Foxes from Seattle play at the always awesome Bowery Ballroom. It was like a JV version of the ‘66 Beach Boys drinking moonshine with 1970 Crosby, Stills & Nash and deciding to have a sing off while wearing moccasins and wool hats. And believe me, that’s a damn nice compliment. This band is great. Listen.
Got these beauties at the newly opened Rime on Smith Street, Brooklyn. Very nice, cool bunch of dudes who opened this shop— a breath of fresh air after making the rounds with the L.E.S. shop heads. I wish these guys the best in their venture.
Waited in line for 35 minutes on Thursday in 90 degree heat just to get in the door. And I would have stood there three times as long if I had to. Since discovering this landmark in ‘02 it remains the best pizza I’ve ever tasted. After massacring my whole pie I actually asked the couple next to me if I could eat their leftovers.
Gramercy Park Hotel does not disappoint. Extremely friendly staff, comfortable rooms, plush towels, kick-ass food & drink options and keys to the Gramercy Park gate to boot. The GPH is like the shit-bag Clift Hotel only the exact opposite. Thoroughly impressed by the whole gig.
